Thick Tomato Salsa Recipe

1 large can pureed tomatoes
1 chopped onion
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
1 green chile, seeded and minced
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 4 oz can tomato sauce
1 lemon juiced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon cilantro leaves or 1/4 cup chopped fresh
1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Warm a pan with a bit of oil. Sweat onion, peppers, and garlic until translucent. Add the rest of the ingredients to the pot, bring to a simmer and hold for 30 minutes. Cool and store in the refrigerator.
