Red Sauce
2 onions diced
4 cloves garlic diced
2 tsp salt
2 tablespoons canola oil
2 cans diced or crushed tomatoes
2 tsp dried basil
2 tsp dried oregano
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2/3 cup red wine
2 tsp sriracha sauce (more or less to taste)
2 anchovy fillet (optional)
1 can tomato paste
Place oil in pot with diced onions, garlic, and salt. Stir periodically. Cook until soft.
Add the rest of the ingredients except for the tomato paste.
Simmer for 15 to 30 minutes to reduce.
Stir in tomato paste at end for final thickening.
Makes enough for 2 packages of linguini
