Easy Picante Sauce

2 cans (14.5 ounces each) diced tomatoes
1 can (4 ounces) diced green chiles
1/4 cup thinly sliced green onion
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley or cilantro
2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste

Mix all ingredients together. Take 1/3 of mixture and puree with food processor. Recombine. Let sit overnight to allow flavors to combine.
