Berry Syrup
4 cups berries (1 package frozen)
2 cups water
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice or 1/4 teaspoon citric acid
1 tablespoon corn starch
Mix berries, water, sugar, and lemon juice. Simmer for 15 minutes. Blend with a stick blender, food processor, or blender. Separate the pulp from the juice. This can easily gum up strainers so start with something like a colander. Stir corn starch into syrup, place back on the stove, and raise to a simmer. Stir and simmer until thick.
