Hot Mushroom Canapes

1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp flour
1/4 cup cream
1 lb mushrooms
1 clove garlic
bread rounds

Chop mushrooms and garlic finely. Saute in butter 3 minutes. Remove from fire; add flour and cream. Cook 2 minutes longer, stirring constantly. Add salt and pepper. Spread on bread rounds and broil until bubbling and brown.
